Short answer: we’re not just charging a listing fee—we’re doing a lot behind the scenes to keep deals safer, clearer, and less sketchy for both sides.

• Your platform fee helps fund marketing that brings more racers to Race Car Swap—meaning more real buyers seeing your listing (ads, search traffic, and email promotions).
• Escrow-style protection. Money is routed through Stripe and held while the seller ships. That’s very different from sending cash, Venmo, or Zelle to a stranger and hoping for the best.
• Built-for-racing audience. Everyone here is looking for race parts, not lawn furniture. That means more serious buyers and fewer “Is this still available?” time-wasters.
• Structured orders & tracking. Each transaction has an order ID, shipping address, timeline, and tracking info in one place, so if something goes sideways there’s a clear trail.
• Defined issue process. If there’s a problem, we have a 72-hour window after delivery or pickup for buyers to report issues and tools to help both sides work toward a fair outcome. On random classifieds, it’s usually just blame and blocked accounts.
• Payments & fees handled for you. Our standard seller fee is the lower of (14.9% + $0.30 with a $4.30 minimum) or ($149 + 6%) on item price + buyer-paid shipping (tax excluded). That fee includes Stripe processing and supported payment methods like cards and, on eligible orders over $250, Affirm Buy Now, Pay Later (availability depends on eligibility and Stripe).
